Brooklyn’s very own Teofimo Lopez (17-1, 13 KOs) will face off against former European champion Sandor Martin on Saturday, Dec. 10th at Madison Square Garden. The fight will be presented live on ESPN starting at 9 p.m ET/ 6 p.m. PT. Lopez was pitted to fight Puerto Rico’s Jose “Sniper” Pedraza. Due to a non- COVID related illness Pedraza had to pull out and Martin was a replacement.

Lopez is the former lightweight king who dethroned the once pound for pound king Vasily Lomachenko. Lopez has notable wins over Diego Magdaleno, Richard Commey and Pedro Campa all via stoppage. Lopez is an explosive, athletic and skilled fighter. He loves to put on a show. After losing his belts to George Kambosos Jr. via a split decision he looks to “takeover” the division and reclaim he elite status. Lopez stated “We wish Jose Pedraza a speedy recovery, but we look forward to facing Sandor Martin. He was the opponent we originally wanted for Heisman Night at Madison Square Garden,” Lopez said. “I will continue to silence the doubters as I take over the 140-pound division. I look forward to giving my hometown fans a special night of boxing.”

Sandor Martin fought the majority of his fights in Spain with one fight taking place in Italy and another fight taking place in California. When Martin came to Fresno, California we saw him go on to win in an upset against former four-division world champion Mikey Garcia by majority decision. Sandor is seen has a slick Spanish southpaw and can spell trouble for Lopez. Martin followed up the big win against Mikey Garcia with a unanimous decision victory over Jose Felix back in April. Martin stated “I’ve dreamed of fighting in a main event at Madison Square Garden. This is my time. I’ve taken the risk, and I will take control against Teofimo Lopez on December 10th. I will give the fans what they want to see.” Both fighters have a lot on the line and will be bringing fireworks to the ring on December 10th!

Also on the stacked card we have heavyweight sensation Jared “The Real Big Baby” Anderson who will be going for his 13 consecutive knockout against battle-tested and war ready Jerry ” Slugger” Forrest. This fight does not look like he would go the distance at all! We also have the hot Puerto Rican Prospect Xander Zayas, who is young and only getting better as he steps up in class against a 28-fight veteran Alexis Salazar. Zayas always puts on a great show and this step up in competition is definitely called for. Lastly we have the 2020 Olympic silver medalist Keyshawn Davis going against Juan Carlos Burgos in a lightweight duel. The winner of this fight may be heading down the path to begin challenging for a world title in a stacked division!

Tune in on ESPN or head down to Madison Square Garden on December 10th and don’t miss out on this action packed card cause sparks will fly!
