Hitchins vs Zepeda: Crossroads at Junior Middleweight

Undefeated and possible future word title contender Richardson Hitchins (16-0, 7KOs) will meet former title challenger Jose Zepeda for the WBC Silver and IBF North American Super Lightweight titles. The fight will headline a stacked card and take place at the Caribe Royale in Orlando, Florida on Saturday September 23rd. The fight will be presented live via DAZN via Matchroom Boxing.

Hitchins is looking to break through onto the World-Rated scene and sees Zepeda, who is a veteran with tons of experience as a stepping stone. In his last outing Hitchins put on a show in his hometown against John Bauza in a shut-out victory, even forcing Bouza to taste canvas. Hitchins will be looking to make a similar statement against the veteran Zepeda to get a foot hold in with the other contenders of the division.

Jose Zepeda proved he is no rookie and there is levels to the game. He took out Puerto Rican prospect Josue Vargas in emphatic fashion. Josue Vargas exploded on the scene as a top prospect, with slick skills and a southpaw yet Jose Zepeda made short work of him by stopping Vargas in the first round of there highly anticipated fight. Zepeda challenged for the title 3 times already but came up short. In his career he has amassed an immense amount of experience Zepeda looks to prove there are levels to this boxing game with a win against Hitchins. Zepeda is coming off a 10 round unanimous decision against Neeraj Goyat just 5 months ago.

Also on the card we have Jessica McCaskill and Sandy Ryan who will square off for the WBA, WBC and WBO women’s welterweight title in a unification bout. Tune in on DAZN or head over to the Caribe Royal in Orlando Florida and don’t miss out on the action!
