Haney vs Prograis: Haney’s Homecoming!

On December 9th at the San Francisco’s Chase Center, which is the home of the Golden State Warriors, we will see Devin Haney (30-0, 15KOs) attempt to become a two-division champion as he moves up to 140 to take on Regis Prograis (29-1, 24KOs) for the WBC World super lightweight title. The fight will presented live via DAZN pay-per-view.

Haney returns home to make his attempt at being known as two-division champion if he beats Prograis at 140 pounds for the WBC title. Haney became the undisputed champ at 135 when he defeated George kambosos Jr in Australia in June 2022. He then solidified his name as undisputed when he beat Kambosas Jr. in their rematch and then he went on to beat the living legend and former undisputed champion and former pound for pound king Vasiliy Lomachenko. A win over Prograis will put the 24 year old Haney on track for Hall of Fame pedigree as a two-division champion. Haney stated that he hasn’t fought at home since he was an amateur so he will be looking for his city to show up and show out! Haney also stated in reference to moving up in weight “I will be stronger and faster than ever. I going to dominate him, and the welterweight division will be put on notice.

Prograis will be putting his WBC title on the line for the second time after defending his title back in April against Danielito Zorrilla. Prograis became a two-time champion when he snatched the WBC strap off of Jose Zepeda in an 11th round knockout. Prograis is looking to hurt Haney badly. I win against Haney will halt Haney’s catapult to elite and propel Prograis up that ladder. There is a lot on the line for Prograis and being the older man at 34 knows what a loss can do to his career at this point. Prograis, who’s only blemish on his record comes by the hands of Josh Taylor via majority decision, will lay it all on the line come fight night. Prograis has a notable win against Ivan Redkach as well.

Tune in come fight night and do not miss out on the action as these top fighters come to blows to prove who is king at 140!
