Oscar Duarte was set to fight Kenneth Sims Jr. last November, but due to an injured knee, Sims had to postpone said fight. The fight is back on August 2nd and will headline the 2nd DAZN card in the Windy City of Chicago! The fight will take place at 140lbs and will be a 12-round contest via Golden Promotions and Matchroom Boxing via DAZN.
Duarte (29-2-1, 23KOs) is a fighter who will always bring heat and action to the ring. Duarte’s only loss in his last 15 fights came at the hands of Ryan Garcia, a fight which Duarte was making very competitive until he got caught by Garcia’s signature, lightening fast left hook. Since this loss, the next three fights we saw Duarte stopped JoJo Diaz, outclassed Akhmedov, who was a replacement for Sims, then ran through Miguel Madueno in February, who was a replacement for Regis Prograis who pulled out of that fight. Duarte is definitely a tough, high action fighter who is a handful for any fighter who decided to stand opposite him in the squared circle.
Sims (22-2, 8KOs) is also no slouch, since starting his career with a 1-2-1 record from 2017-2018 he has been unbeaten. Making big waves in 2021, Sims upset the sizzling Dominican prospect, Elvis Rodriguez. A win for either fighter will put them closer to being in line to challenge the WBA champ Gary Antuanne Russell.
This is a matchup among matchups. A true fight for the fans come fight night. so do not miss out on the action, tune into DAZN with the main card starting at 9PM/ET or head down to the Credit Union 1 Arena, in Chicago Illinois, you will NOT be disappointed when these two fighters go toe to toe! A fight that had time to brew and animosity that has built up since last November!
