Canelo vs Plant: A Date to Undisputed Super Middleweight

Mexican superstar Saul ” Canelo” Alvarez (56-1-2, 38 KOs), who hold the WBA ( super, WBC, WBO and The Ring super middleweight titles looks continue his reign of terror in the super middleweight division as he takes on IBF champion Caleb ” Sweet Hands” Plant (21-0, 12KOs). This fight will crown the victor as the first unified super middleweight champion in history! This historic event will take place at the MGM Grand, Grand arena in Paradise, Nevada on November 6th 2021 and will be presented live on Showtime PPV with the televised card starting at 9PM/ ET 6PM/ PT.

There is some competitive bad blood between these two and they even went to blows at a press conference. Canelo has been in the fight game since turning pro at 15. His only loss came at the hands of boxing living legend Floyd Mayweather. Since then Canelo has proved to be a student of the game with every fight he shows improvements and versality. Caleb Plant is the bigger man at 6’1 to Canelo’s 5’8 and will have about a 4 inch reach advantage . Plant is a slick fighter who uses his reach and can box very well. His power can be lacking but he tends to pick apart his opponents with his boxing ability to rack up rounds. Plant will need to try and not mix it up in the pocket with Canelo who has power in both hands.
