“Boots” Ennis vs Stanionis: Welterweight Unification in A.C

Jaron “Boots” Ennis (33-0,29KOs) will come face to face with Eimantas Stanionis (15-0, 9KOs) in a welterweight unification bout on April 12th in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The fight will be presented live via Matchroom Boxing on DAZN, pitting ESPN’s No.1 (Ennis) against No. 2 (Stanionis) to see who will be crowned the king at 147 lbs.
“Boots” will be making the 3rd defense of his IBF title. “Boots” has 90 percent KO percentage, a switch hitter slick fighter like Hagler who is difficult to train for. “Boots” is gifted with footwork and a defensive prowess that can make the most seasoned fighters look sub-par. “Boots” has notable wins against Sergey Lipinets, who was down in round 4 and round 6, as well as Thomas Dulorme, who was also down twice. “Boots” also beat Roiman Villa to snatch the IBF title and this will be the 3rd defense of said title.
Stanionis beat Gabriel Maestre last April and shortly after was elevated from WBA regular titleholder to world champion. In 2023 Stanionis was to fight Vergil Ortiz, but the fight was postponed three times forcing him to go fight-less that year. Stanionis also has a notable win over Thomas Dulorme, he also has shared the ring with veteran Luis Collazo, but the find ended in a no-contest due to an accidental clash of heads.
Will Stanionis pull an upset and make the amazing Jaron “Boots” Ennis look lesser than? Or will “Boots” give Stanionis the “Boot” and unify the division setting his eyes on the next target at 147? Tune in come fight night and don’t miss out as the welterweight division gets closer to crowing one king!
