Conceição vs Foster: Revenge or Repeat?

After having a controversial close, split decision, in which Robson Conceição defeated O’Shaquie Foster in their last outing on July 6th, these two will face off again on Saturday November 2nd at the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, NY. since the WBC ordered an immediate rematch. The fight will be presented live on ESPN+ via Top Rank .

The former WBC 130-lb champion Foster (22-3, 12KOs) is getting a second chance after being dethroned by Conceição, which many fans feel is undeserved. Foster has a notable win against the previously unbeaten, who at the time was 36-0, Rey Vargas handing him his first defeat via unanimous decision on February 11th, 2023. Foster also defeated Abraham “Super” Nova via close split decision which people are comparing to his fight with Conceição, feeling that Nova should have won that fight. Many feel that the Nova fight and the Conceição fight had Foster fighting to defensive, mostly on the ropes and not doing enough to score rounds. Foster is given another chance to prove it is not a fluke and he deserves to be in there with the top guys at 130lbs. The critics may add to Foster’s motivation to be more aggressive and really show he can shake things up in the ring and meet his opponents head on.

Conceição has been vocal about his frustration with how close their first fight was scored. Conceição was quoted saying, ” Foster, don’t run in the ring! See you in Verona. Conceição feels he did more than enough to earn a comfortable, clear and decisive victory and that Foster really didn’t deserve a rematch. Conceição looks to be just as busy as in the first fight if not even busier. If Foster comes into the fight with the same gameplan as in the Nova fight and the first fight with Conceição, then we will see a repeat with Conceição’s hands raised come November 2nd. Conceição has shares the ring with the likes of Shakur Stevenson and Oscar Valdez. Conceição also has a notable win over the tough and rugged Emanuel Navarette via majority decision.

Both fighters know what’s on the line, not only the WBC super featherweight title but also bragging rights. This fight will either prove the critics right or wrong and the only way see this debate put to the test is to tune in on November 2nd.

Also fighting on the card, we have the following undercard fights:

– Raymond Muratalla vs. Jesus Perez

– Abraham Nova vs. Humberto Galindo

– Bryce Mills vs. Hank Lundy

So, tune in come fight night or head down to Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, NY on November 2nd to put this debate to rest!
