Flaz Injury Cancels Maestre Fight, Salas and Cruz Moved up to Main Event for PROBOX TV

Niklaus Flaz was supposed to fight Gabriel Maestre on April 5th, but due to an injury Flaz had to pull out, which caused the fight to be cancelled. The fight was to be a WBA welterweight eliminator in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the 2300 Arena. The PROBOX TV Card will go on with the co-main event between Ricardo Salas and Kent Cruz being upgraded to the main event at the welterweight limit.

Salas (20-2-2, 15KOs) Hails from Mexico City. Salas battled it out with Roiman Villa back in September, in which he knocked out Villa in the 3rd round. Four of Salas’ last six fights ended in a stoppage. Salas will be looking to continue the trend against Kent, especially with their fight being elevated to the main event which will force Salas to bring the best version of himself come fight night. A win will raise his stake in the welterweight division.

Cruz (17-1-3, 11KOs) fought Braulio Rodriguez this past November, Stopping him in just 2 short rounds. Braulio Rodriguez fought Ryan Garcia at the end of 2018 and lasted five rounds before being stopped the flashy fast Garcia. Cruz got Rodriguez out 3 rounds faster than Garcia which can mean something. The pressure is also on Cruz as well with the fight being elevated to the main card, Cruz will also be looking to show up and show out! Both these fighters will be leaving it all on the line, with unfortunate Flaz injury, this may be a blessing for these two fighters allowing them to get center stage come fight night. Like the saying goes “when one door closes another one opens” but will Cruz or Salas be walking through the door of victory on April 5th?

Also on the card we junior welterweights Mykquan Williams (22-0-2, 11KOs) of Connecticut and Mexican veteran Antonio Moran (30-7-1, KOs). Junior lightweights, Orlando-based southpaw Geo Lopez, (17-0,10 KOs), and the Nicaraguan Rene Alvarado (34-15,22 KOs. Lastly, the light heavyweight eight-rounder between Cleveland’s (10-0-1,8 KOs) Dante Benjamin and Texas-based Mexican Rodolfo Gomez Jnr (14-8-3,10 KOs).
