Haney vs Diaz: Come to Terms to Come to Blows!

Unbeaten WBC lightweight champion Devin Haney (26-0,15KOs) and Joseph “Jojo: Diaz Jr. (32-1-1, 15KOs) have finally agreed to terms for a fight on December 4th. The fight will be presented live via DAZN at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas with the main card starting at 10:00 PM ET.

Jojo Diaz, the former IBF super featherweight champion was supposed to fight Ryan Garcia on November 27th but Garcia had to pull out due to a hand injury. Diaz and Haney have been going back and forth on social media and this fight makes sense. Haney is the current WBC lightweight champion. Haney has been ducked by many fighters, Garcia chose not to fight Haney after his knockout win over Luke Campbell for the WBC lightweight title eliminator. Jojo Diaz is one of the best in the division and Haney is hungry for fights with the top guys. Jojo Diaz defeated Javier Fortuna in a 12 round unanimous decision back on July 9th. Jojo Diaz also beat the slick southpaw, Tevin Farmer for the IBF title before losing it on the scales against Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov.

This is a step up fight for Haney, his chance to prove he belongs at the top of the division. Haney is coming off an amazing 12 round unanimous decision win over former three-division world champion Jorge Linares. He also has a notable win over Yuiorkis Gamboa. Haney is young, he has the reach and height advantage over Jojo Diaz. Haney has a chip on his shoulder for having top guys pushing him to the side and avoiding him that he will look to prove his a force to be reckoned with.

The back and forth competitive trash talk will make this a great fight. These two fighters have something to prove and look to keep their respective careers on the up and up. Tune in on fight night and don’t miss out!
