This fight will presented live on DAZN via Matchroom.

Amanda Serrano (43-2-1, 30KOs) is looking to make history by becoming the first Puerto Rican fighter to be an undisputed champion, male or female. The seven division champion is also looking to make history in her own hometown of NYC. Serrano is number 3 on ESPNs pound for pound list. She holds the IBF featherweight title which she took off of Sarah Mahfoud by unanimous decision in 2022. in 2022 she also fought Katie Taylor in 2022 and lost via split decision in what was names ESPN’s women’s fight of the year for 2022. On top of having the IBF title, Serrano also holds the WBC and WBO titles at featherweight. The final missing piece of the puzzle, the WBA title is held by Erika Cruz.

Erika Cruz (15-1, 3KOs) beat Jelena Mrdjenovich via technical decision in April of 2021 to obtain her WBA featherweight strap. Since then she has had two fights, beating Melissa Esquivel via split decision and beating Mrdjenovich. Cruz’s only loss came in 2016 in a majority decision loss to Alondra Gonzalez Flores in a four round fight which was Cruz’s second career fight. Since then she has proves to be a tough competitor. If Cruz wins she will be the first Mexican unified champion at 126 lbs.

This fight is for the history books! If either Serrano or Cruz win they will be making history with their respective countries on their backs! Both these fighters no what is on the line and they are coming to fight, for pride and for legacy. This has the makings to be a great fight, two top level fighters with warrior spirits ready for war and legacy.

Also on the card we have another unification for undisputed at junior lightweight in the co-feature when we see Alycia Baumgardner take on Elhem Mekhaled. Baumgardner has the WBA WBO and IBF. She stated that “Mekhaled is a great fighter. Her record and her last fight, where she really outboxed Persoon shows that but neither her nor anyone else in the division are on my level. So I plan to end this one quick to make an example out of her”.
