Under the new promotional banner, Edgar Berlanga and Richardson Hitchins are making their promotional debuts as Zuffa Boxing Signees on July 26 at the Infosys Theater at Madison Square Garden. The fight card will stream live via Paramount+.
Berlanga (23-2, 18KOs) will face off against Steven Butler (35-5-1, 32KOs) in a 10-round super middleweight main event. The co-main event features Richardson Hitchins (20-0, 8KOs) taking on Ricardo Salas (24-2-2, 18KOs) in a 12-round welterweight bout
Berlanga is looking pave a path to the road of redemption, being 1-2 in his last three fights with a stoppage win over Jonathan Gonzalez-Ortiz. Berlanga’s 2 losses came before and after this stoppage win with the losses coming at the hands of Canelo Alvarez via decision and a brutal knockout loss to Hamzah Sheeraz.
Butler has won his last four fights by stoppage and challenged Janibek Alimkhanuly for the WBO super middleweight title in 2023, bout lost via second-round TKO. Both these fighters will be looking for redemption which will add to the makings of a great fight.
Hitchins is moving up to welterweight after vacating the IBF junior welterweight title that he snatched from Liam Paro. Hitchins then followed that up with a successful defense of the IBF title against George Kambosas. Hitchins will be dealing with Mexico’s Salas, who hasn’t lost since 2022 and has stopped five of his last six opponents. This has the makings of a great fight as well and Hitchins will have his hands full. Be sure to tune in come fight night and do not miss out on the action!
